What We Do
Nestled within the heart of the academic campus, Makerspace is a beacon of creativity and ingenuity. Its open floor plan, filled with an array of tools and resources, invites students to unleash their imaginations and bring their ideas to life. From 3D printers whirring to the rhythmic clang of metalworking, Makerspace hums with the energy of innovation. Here, students tinker, design, and collaborate, turning raw materials into tangible prototypes and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. It’s more than just a workshop; it’s a playground for exploration, where hands-on learning ignites a passion for discovery. In Makerspace, the only limit is the bounds of imagination.
How can I reserve the space?
Access Requirements:

Completing these steps and the required certifications/training ensures a smooth and organized workshop experience. Reservations can only be made one week in advance. Any issues while reserving, uploading certificates or special requests, email Ted C. Iturrioz at titurrio@fiu.edu
Equipment
In the university lab, a range of tools from glassware to advanced instruments are carefully selected for research. With the availability of 3D printers, new possibilities emerge, while safety equipment ensures researchers’ protection in their pursuit of knowledge.
